It is a research and development center of IADE – Faculty of Design, Technology and Communication of the European University, based in Lisbon, Portugal, focused on promoting the broad area of Design. Its research team, with 128 members, of which 54 are integrated and 74 are collaborators, including 30 PhD students, carries out mainly applied and interdisciplinary research, exploring the intersections between Design, Communication, Media, Art, Science and Technology, with applications in various fields and contexts.

The University of Malaga (UMA) is a young university that celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in 2022. Linked from its beginnings to the development of the Málaga TechPark (Technological Park of Andalusia), it is located in a privileged enclave, cultural capital of southern, Europe with a relevant artistic, educational, touristic and technological activity. The University of Malaga has more than forty thousand students and a highly qualified teaching and research staff, deeply involved with the productive fabric and the academic environment of the region. The Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Malaga was created in 2005. With a distinctly multidisciplinary and innovative character, with the integration of new technologies and research, it is one of the youngest university teaching centres for the arts in Spain. The Department of Art and Architecture of the University of Malaga, constituted in 2015, integrates the Administrative Units of Architecture and Fine Arts, is one of the largest and teaches in various faculties of the University of Malaga.

Transferencias.design is a meeting around Design as a discipline of useful transformation for companies, educational centres, administrations and institutions of all kinds. The main concept of the whole programme is the need to interact in a collaborative way with Design as the axis. The search for relationships is aimed at transferring knowledge and experiences with creative or disruptive methods and procedures specific to Design. In strategic terms, Transferencias aims to build a community of interests around Design in all fields and contexts. We organise ourselves by encouraging innovation as an individual and collective attitude, stimulating co-creation and autonomy in decision-making and in the construction of activities around work teams. These teams organise workshops, seminars and round tables from their autonomy and responsibility in a collaborative and coordinated way in operative organisational processes based on horizontal work dynamics.
