Matthew Wizinsky

Matthew Wizinsky is a designer, researcher, lecturer and author on contemporary issues in design practice and research. He has over 20 years of professional experience in interactive, graphic, exhibition and experimental design. His projects and research seek to understand the kinds of ‘worlds’ that design actions, both intentional and otherwise, produce. His book Design after Capitalism (2022, MIT Press) advocates for a new design paradigm oriented to deliberate transitions in everyday social, political and economic relations.

Wizinsky is an Associate Professor of Urban Technology at the University of Michigan, a PhD researcher in Transitional Design at Carnegie Mellon University, and Associate Editor of Visible Language, the longest-running peer-reviewed design journal. https://designaftercapitalism.org/.
